Foreword - "A Sense of Architecture" : The Sculpture of Anthony Caro - Colour Plates - Select Chronology - Studio Assistants.

Ce catalogue a été édité à l'occasion de l'exposition  Anthony Caro - Sculpture towards Architecture présentée à la Tate Gallery de Londres, du 16 octobre 1991 au 26 janvier 1992.

Sir Anthony Caro is one of Britain's most distinguished sculptors. The abstract constructions in steel which he began to make in 1960 heralded a revolution in sculpture. Whithin a short period, conventional ideas relating to materials, method, surface, scale, form and space were all influenced by Caro's radical approaches. A particulary important aspect of his work has been the inspiration he has drawn from architecture.

This catalogue has been published to coincide with the Tate Gallery exhibition Sculpture towards Architecture. The exhibition comprises four major recent works which manifest Caro's engagement with the relation of sculpture and architecture.
